Day 2: Up, Up and Away

LIVE, from Grasmere, I'm Sarah Moffett and I am here with Katie Billy Goat Moffett and Bekah Hop a Long Edington.  Rachel the Steadfast Moffett is somewhere with peanut butter and coffee.  Please forgive the break in our coverage.  The combined powers of Vodaphone, capitalism and commerce could not break the crags and fells death grip on our internet signal yesterday.  Never fear, we are still here...minus two knees, an achilles heel and three toe nails.

Yesterday, we hiked from Ennerdale to Stonethwaite (not to be confused with the bevy of other "thwaites" we stumbled into thinking we were done for the day).  I am happy to report the Trailblazer guidebook has downgraded its little black lies to tiny white ones.  14 miles was 15.5.  On the upside - wait for it - the weather actually held and the route was gorgeous.

Although the paths were some times invisible.

Nevertheless, we went on, and we went UP...

...and UP...
(no really, we climbed up this)

...and then down and DOWN...

Albeit, some of us with more grace than others.

Now, while these views may be impressive, none of this compares to the burly man forearm sized Haddock that Bex received upon innocently ordering fish and chips.  Sadly, due to restaurant security, we have no pictures...and it took a while to get the camera back.  We retreated to our lovely inn, Knott's View, which was in a 450 year old building.  We felt like hobbits.  The End.
